Apotheosis of War

Inspired by Vasily Vereshchagin’s “Apotheosis of War”, this project reimagines the classic painting through a full CG reconstruction.
Every element — from composition and lighting to texture and atmosphere — was meticulously recreated in 3D to honor the original’s emotional depth while exploring its cinematic potential.
The work was produced using Cinema 4D and Redshift, focusing on realistic material definition, volumetric light behavior, and fine surface detailing to capture the haunting beauty of Vereshchagin’s vision in motion.
